Scope of Our Curriculum

Scope of Our Curriculum

Our classroom focuses on different areas, each containing self –work under guidance, putting stress on all-round skill development. It is organized with the simplest works at the beginning and the most advanced works at the end. We facilitate their learning process and enable them to march ahead with confidence. Our curriculum and pedagogy encourage children to feel a sense of accomplishment from the very beginning of their educational journey.

Each area of the classroom has specific concepts/goals for children to learn and achieve.

Sensory Skill Development
This area “refines the senses” by allowing children to explore works using their sense of touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing. This ranges from the development of key concepts such as shape recognition, discrimination of size (big/little), and colour recognition to observation, concentration development to the skills of choosing the current environment.

Preparation for Day-to-Day Life
We motivate our children to help their elders in day-to-day work such as sweeping, pouring, washing dishes, preparing a snack, sewing etc. These skills not only support them in practical life but also develop their concentration, order, coordination, and independence while also refining their fine motor skills. It makes them respect these domestic chores and the people who help in doing that, thus improvising their social skills.

Aesthetic Skill Development
Aesthetic skills involves the pursuit of beauty. It stimulates children’s senses in the form of art, music, dance and drama. A stimulating environment is created for such activities that enhance children’s learning and thinking. There are many opportunities in our classrooms for creative artistic expression. Development of children creativity within a rich learning environment is further enhanced with the support of responsive and observant teachers. It provides opportunities to express their thoughts, ideas and feeling freely through art, music and drama. This not only enable the children to express things creatively, it also fosters the development of other domains such as physical, cognitive, language and social. At the same time, the concept development they acquire during the process enable them to have the ability to solve the problems that involves thinking and imagination skills.

Geographical Knowledge

Young children are fascinated about the world and love learning about different cultures, holidays, traditions, foods, etc. The children are exposed to maps, flags, landforms, animals, language, etc.; as they grow the interactive classroom, debates, group discussion, making models help them in understanding the world around them. The technically equipped class-rooms are great help in it.

Nature walk, visit to parks, museums and botanical garden, organizing and participating in science exhibitions, participating in discussions, etc. are included in our curriculum to hone the scientific skills and make the children ready to encounter a problem, as they know which skills to utilize, the manner in which to use them and how to work through a process in a logical fashion. Scientific thinking skills include observing, asking questions, making predictions, testing ideas, documenting data and communicating thoughts.
